Tracking perceptual-motor development over time

The tracking development charts are designed to allow therapists and parents to collaboratively an infant's progress collaboratively over time.

Track an infant's development as a series of steps or tasks that need to be mastered along the four gross motor pathways: supine, from prone to crawling, the development of sitting and the development of standing and cruising.

The Developmental Gym website provides online charts following infant development from birth to independent standing.

The fillable PDf charts are illustrated, with a brief description of the task mastery and the age range at which the task is achieved. The different tasks and age ranges are based on the Alberta Infant Motor Scales.

How to use the Tracking Infant Development Charts

The charts are presented as fillable PDF forms with checkboxes for indicating when a new skill is present and spaces for notes, goals and comments regarding progress.

Each skill is illustrated with a short description of the components that should be present.  The charts are also useful when discussing goals and suggestions for activities that can be included in the infants daily routines, independent playtime and playtime with a social partner.
